does anyone know anything about KD and carpets....i was wanting to know cause i have heard KD might be related to carpets...enviroment...and other things...i have heard so many different answers when it comes to the carpets...some say...i had NO carpets and the child came down with KD...and others say their kids were exposed to either new carpets or freshly cleaned carpets....i was thinking that if this disease originated in the asia's .... do statistics show that asian countries have alot of carpets in their homes....and also isaiah was born into this house where i am and it has always had carpets....and yet not until october 2006 at the age of 4 and a half he was diagnosed with KD....and i have not shampood the carpets since the beginning of the summer months just passed....

Funny enough i did clean my living room carpet.....I can't remember exactly when it was. I think it was after the March 2006 incident so he had a runny nose when I did it and then was diagnosed with KD in July.

We re-carpeted our home in July and our son was diagnosed in September.
I've read a lot about the connection between new or newly cleaned carpet and Kawasaki Disease, there sure is an odd coincidence.

We had steam cleaned our carpets 2 weeks before my son was diagnosed with KD.

my son had kd and we dont have any carpets in our home at all. so i dont know, if there is a link.

We moved to our new home in July and in dec. he had Kd. and I know the carpets were cleaned before we moved in.

I do not have carpet in my home , My son had KD in 2008 .
I don't think Carpet or it's cleaning can be linked to KD.

My mom had cleaned our carpets using a rental machine about a month before I was diagnosed with Kawasaki's at the age of 15 - very atypical. I have always been suspicious of the possibility that carpet cleaning caused my illness, as I was perfectly healthy prior to developing KD. I have now suffered through 10 years of KD-related issues and advise anyone with children to not wet/steam clean their carpets. However, there is no scientific evidence for this link - just a series of coincidences.
